What IS Pop Music? Saw a great debate at the Oxford Union last night about Pop Music. Wasn't intending to write an article about it, but the two quotes that stuck in my mind - especially as I own PopMusic.com, but think Pop Music is so much more than the music often perjoratively referred to as Pop Music - "If it was good enough for The Beatles (and Jimi Hendrix, Rolling Stones, et al), then it's good enough for me." Pop Music just means music that's popular. Not that narrow sort of sub-genre that people sometimes think of when they think of Pop Music.
